General Product Care TipsUpdated 10 days ago
Regular maintenance is essential for preserving both the longevity and aesthetic quality of your fittings. To maintain their condition, gently remove dust using a soft, dry cloth or duster, which helps protect the finish and extend the life of the fittings.
For deeper cleaning, lightly dampen a cloth with clean water and carefully wipe the surface. Follow this by using a separate, dry cloth to thoroughly remove any moisture, preventing water spots and enhancing the fitting's natural sheen.
Some metal finishes may require specialised cleaning methods to restore their original appearance. Please refer to the below list for specific care instructions.
Brass & Bronze
Over time, brass may naturally develop a patina due to exposure to the surrounding elements, even in indoor environments. To help slow this aging process, we recommend periodically rinsing the brass with clean water and gently wiping it with a soft cloth. Performing this routine every few months can aid in preserving its original appearance. Should the brass begin to darken with age, a suitable brass polish, such as Brasso, may be used to restore its natural lustre. However, please note this considered a natural part of the patina process.
Aluminium
Aluminium should be cleaned using only a damp cloth, with no solvents or detergents. It is important to avoid contact with fertilisers, chlorinated water, and other corrosive substances, as these may damage the finish over time.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel benefits from occasional cleaning with a mild solution of warm water and detergent to remove surface buildup. After washing, rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. For more persistent marks, a stainless-steel cleaner (in wipe or cream form) used with a non-abrasive cloth is appropriate.
Chrome
To maintain chrome's polished appearance, regular dusting is essential, as accumulated dust can lead to the appearance of rust over time. For general cleaning, use warm soapy water with a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. For more ingrained dust or buildup, a soft-bristled brush may be used. Always dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water spots and preserve the finish.
